The Tilt-A-Whirl is a classic tilt-a-whirl ride located on the North Midway at Lagoon.
Ride Experience
Riding it feels like stepping into a playful dance of unpredictability. As you sit in one of its rounded cars, the platform starts spinning in large, gentle circles. The platform has hills and valleys causing the car to rise and fall as the platform rotates. But then comes the twist—the car you're in pivots and swivels independently, creating an exhilarating combination of motions.
Each ride is unique because the spins and twirls depend on weight distribution and the timing of the platform's movements. One moment, you might feel a smooth glide, and the next, you’re hurtling sideways with laughter-inducing force. It's all about sudden changes and that delightful sense of chaos, making it a favorite for those who enjoy a mix of thrill and fun without it being overly intense.
Ride History
Lagoon's Tilt-A-Whirl used to have blue and white cars and some red in the ride structure itself. The ride was repainted sometime in the early 2000s with a red, yellow, and purple look. It has maintained that paint job since.
In 2009 Lagoon dismantled the ride and rebuilt it. It was gone for the first month and a half of the season.
