The Lagoon Is Fun Wiki is an unofficial collection of information about Lagoon Amusement Park located in Farmington, Utah. This information comes from a variety of sources including Lagoon's own website or social media accounts, ride manufacturer websites, other Lagoon fan sites, former Lagoon employees, and people who just really love the park and have helped collect the information over the years.

The Lagoon Is Fun (LIF) website has been a place for Lagoon information for over 20 years now! The site has changed a lot during that time, but the mission has always been the same: to tell the world that Lagoon is FUN!

Lagoon Is Fun Timeline

The Early Days

Lagoon Is Fun originally started in early 2003 as the name of a Yahoo Group created for a handful of Lagoon employees as well as former employees that were friends and wanted an easy way to discuss Lagoon and keep in touch. The group grew to include people who enjoyed going to Lagoon as well and wanted to join in on the discussions. In February 2004, the Lagoon Is Fun website launched as a companion site to the Yahoo Group. The website was used primarily to share information about Lagoon like ride stats and facts or show information that Lagoon's official site lacked at the time.

In the fall of 2004, a discussion forum was added to the Lagoon Is Fun website. Most of the users from the Yahoo Group migrated over to the new Lagoon Is Fun Forum and eventually the Yahoo Group was disbanded. Lagoon Is Fun became a one-stop-shop for people to get unofficial information about Lagoon as well as a place to talk about and share stuff about Lagoon. Over the years, the LIF Forum was known for sharing rumors and breaking information about Lagoon prior to Lagoon officially announcing it.

The Wiki is Born

In December 2014, the Lagoon Is Fun Wiki was born. The wiki served as the new home for the information collected by Lagoon Is Fun over the years and store it in a better format than the outdated static pages that had been around for over 10 years. A lot of the original wiki pages were just copy and pasted information from the old pages. As time went on, the pages were improved to take advantage of wiki markup and formatting to make it easier to find info about the park.

Early 2019 brought a change to the site. The discussion forum was split off from the wiki into its own website: Lagoon Fans. This move was done due to issues with people reaching out to the LIF forum team thinking it was an official Lagoon discussion board. The rebrand helped identify the discussion board as a fan group and not anything official. The wiki continued under the Lagoon Is Fun banner.

Death and Rebirth

In Fall 2021, the wiki was taken offline after some issues with a spam bot attack. The idea was to bring the wiki back after changes were made to help prevent the spam issues, but the wiki remained offline. The justification for it was a perceived lack of interest. Prior to the wiki going down, updates to the wiki had fallen behind and the wiki hadn't really had any meaningful updates for a few years, so it went dark.

Near the end of 2024, Lagoon Is Fun was brought back as a micro blog site with a focus on sharing small updates about the park including sharing updates Lagoon posts to their Facebook and Instagram pages. The micro blog also auto shares to accounts on Mastodon, Bluesky, Threads, and Tumblr to help people on those platforms get Lagoon updates since Lagoon does not have accounts on those platforms at this time.

March of 2025 brought about the rebirth of the Lagoon Is Fun Wiki. With the relaunch of Lagoon Is Fun, a few people reached out regarding the information from the wiki and inquired as to if that was still around. It was, so some work was done to get the wiki back online and updates to the wiki have started again.
