Flying Tigers is a new ride that debuted at Lagoon in 2017 along with Ruka Safari.

Ride Details

Flying Tigers is a Zamperla Flying Tigers model family ride located in Lagoon's kiddieland. Riders sit in two row airplane vehicles which are suspended from above. The ride sits under a wooden roof with a sky painted on it. The vehicles travel straight for a distance and then perform a sharp U-turn while slightly tilting. The ride experience is similar to Red Rock Rally except the vehicles are suspended from above and tilt while turning.

Adults can ride the ride but must sit in a rear row by themselves. Kids can sit in either row of the vehicle in pairs of two.

Flying Tigers Theme

The ride's theme is heavily influenced by the 1st American Volunteer Group (AVG) which was a fighter group within the Chinese Air Force formed by the United States to defend China during World War 2. The AVG was nicknamed 'The Flying Tigers'. The distinctive shark face on the ride's planes comes directly from the planes of the AVG. The winged tiger logo on the ride is an actual AVG logo that was created for them by the Walt Disney Company. Since the logo was granted to the group, which no longer exists, it is likely part of the public domain.

Opening

The ride was not yet installed yet on Lagoon's 2017 opening day, instead opening on April 8th, 2017.
