Details
Built in 1907, Scenic Railway was Lagoon's first roller coaster and was one of the first rides at the park. The ride was located in the area that Roller Coaster currently occupies, although Scenic Railway was only about 1/3 of the size. The ride was 40 feet high and featured a double figure-eight track layout. It was removed at some point between 1919 and 1921.

Surviving Example
At one time there were over 400 double figure-8 side friction roller coasters in the world. Today only one remains, Leap the Dips at Lakemont park. This ride is very similar but not identical to Lagoon's Scenic Railway.
