Details
Scenic railway was a side-friction rollercoaster built in 1906. The ride was located in the area that Roller Coaster currently occupies, although Scenic Railway was only about half of the size. The ride was 40 feet high and featured a double figure-eight track layout. It is not clear which year the ride was removed, but it was gone by 1921 when Roller Coaster was first opened.
Surviving Example
At one time there were over 400 of these types of roller coaster in the world. Today only one remains, Leap the Dips at Lakemont park. This ride is very similar if not identical to Lagoon's Scenic Railway.
