This is a general overview of how the Lagoon is Fun Wiki works.

Concept

The Lagoon is Fun forum has been quite popular for many years, and a lot of information about Lagoon has been posted there. This wiki will allow all of that information, even the most obscure, to be organized into an easily navigated website. The aim of the project is to allow people to easily find any information about Lagoon that they might ever want to know.

How it works

Pages

The wiki allows for the creation of a theoretically limitless number of pages, each with its own title. Any noteworthy topic about Lagoon can have its own page. If a topic doesn't have a page, one can be easily created. Every page on the site is created and edited in the exact same way. Pages can include text (which can be formatted), links, pictures, videos, and a few extra features. Every page has a discussion area that allows for discussion or debate on changes to the page. Anybody with an account can edit pages, create new pages, upload pictures, or join in the discussion.

The pages are linked together by any cross-references. Every time another topic is mentioned, a simple link to that topic should be created. For example, when the Jumping Dragon page mentions the ride's similarity to Musik Express, a link to Musik Express is added. Since the previous sentence mentions both topics, a link to both pages was added. This, combined with special navigation pages (such as the Rides page), page-specific navigational links (such as those found at the bottom of this page), and a highly functional search capability makes the wiki both interesting and easy to use.

Pictures

Pictures can be uploaded to the wiki and easily displayed on any number of pages in many different ways. You can very simply add your own pictures, add pictures that somebody else uploaded, or add any picture on Wikimedia Commons to any pages.

Discussion

If there is any disagreement, confusion or questions about what should be on a page, there is a discussion area on every page for sorting out the details.
